The EMP-9701 is a feature-rich mini-PCI card which embodies 2 transmitter 3 receiver(2T3R) achitecture to ensure reliable, cost-effective wireless connectivity at high throughput over an extended range. Optimized RF architecture and baseband algorithms provide superb performance with low-power consumption. Intelligent MAC design deploys a highly efficient DMA engine and hardware data processing accelerators without overloading the host procesor. It supports standards-based security, quality of service and international regulatory, giving end users the greatest performance anytime, anywhere.
The new MIMO wireless miniPCI offers dramatic performance improvement with 2 bandwidth technology (20/40MHz) and backward compatible over standard 802.11b and 802.11g wireless devices. It consists of two highly integrated ICs (RT2860+RT2820) that fully comply with IEEE802.11n 2.0 and IEEE 802.11b/g standards and operates in 2.4GHz. Its high transmission data rates and reliable performance are ideal for streaming multimedia applications.

Additional information:
Note: Be aware two 802.11n radios in one case require 15W, which is a higher power requirement than what can be delivered over powered Ethernet. Others have come up with various solutions to deal with the power problem, including using fewer antennas or proprietary power over Ethernet.
