ALIX.3D3: 1 LAN, 2 miniPCI, 256MB RAM, USB, VGA, Audio

The ALIX system platform by PC Engines provides network OEMs a cost-effective platform for distributing value-added software, such as wireless routers and access points, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, industrial Ethernet, or other special purpose network devices.

This version is intended for thin clients or networked audio players.

The ALIX.3D3 will NOT fit in any of our outdoor WRAP BOX but WILL FIT in our indoor aluminum enclosure.

• CPU: 500 MHz AMD Geode LX800 CPU
• DRAM: 256MB DDR DRAM
• Storage: Operating system and application stored on CompactFlash card (not included)
• Size: 100 x 160 mm (same as WRAP.2E)

• Firmware: AwardBIOS (tinyBIOS will not support VGA)
• Operating Systems: User defined. FreeBSD, m0n0wall, Linux and several commercial OS are possible including Windows XP.
• Power:DC jack or passive Power over Ethernet (not 802.3af compliant). Acceptable voltage range +7V to +20V DC.
• User interface: Three front panel LEDs
• Expansion: 2 miniPCI slots, LPC bus
• Connectivity: 1 Ethernet channels (Via VT6105M 10/100)

Changes from ALIX.3C3 to ALIX.3D3:
• Add CMOS reset jumper.
• Soldering option for line in instead of MIC.
• Add test points for S/PDIF interface.
• Increase USB current limit.
• Add test points at switch pins for easier console restore.
• Populate buzzer driver circuit.
• Change J4 header to COM2.
• Add optional power in header.
• Reduce conducted EMI on DC jack.
• Add second Poscap on 3.3V rail to ruggedize for high power radios.

BIOS Updates:

Check the PC Engines site for additional information.
• beta Fix LEDs, VGA DDC issue (boot hang), free up MFGPT timers.
• 10/06/08 Default = UART port B disable. Please use zapcmos.exe when upgrading to make sure it sticks...
• 7/01/08 fixed serial port (see advanced chipset menu, scroll down). Please disable UART port B, conflict with VGA DDC.
• Please note that this board uses Award BIOS since tinyBIOS does not support VGA.
