The Wi-Spy DBx helps visualize your wireless landscape and a big part of that is our Chanalyzer software that turns Wi-Spy data into interactive graphs that make analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing your wireless networks a breeze. Chanalyzer 3.2 is included with Wi-Spy DBx at no additional cost.

Chanalyzer Software:

Chanalyzer turns data collected from a Wi-Spy into highly interactive charts and graphs, allowing users to visualize their wireless landscape. Together, Wi-Spy and Chanalyzer enable both enterprise and small business users to visualize, troubleshoot, and optimize their Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity) networks.

This software records real-time data for review later or remotely. Use Chanalyzer for effective explanations on how you will optimize a customer's wireless network. You can also troubleshoot without leaving your desk by installing our new Recon application, a simple Wi-Spy DBx data server. Connect to it remotely from any location within Chanalyzer.

Chanalyzer lets you look at Wi-Fi Channel Reports, SSID Overlay and all Wireless Devices. Specifically three different views are available to help troubleshoot issues with Wi-Fi networks:

• Spectral View: Highlights bandwidth use over time with a scrolling waterfall graph that plots the selected time period against the frequency range, with each point color-coded by the signals amplitude. Read More
• Topographic View: A spectrum utilization map that shows the density of the spectrum by plotting the percentage of activity for each frequency and amplitude over a selected time period. Read More

• Configuration Options: Zoom into a channel with greater resolution, for detailed troubleshooting.

• Data Inspector: Shows frequency, amplitude, time, and other data of any point in any view.

• Spectrum-Tools: Mike Kershaw, author of Kismet, has developed an open source version of the Wi-Spy software that runs on Linux, BSD, and Mac OS X. This application has most of the features of the original Wi-Spy software for Windows. This software is open source and uses the GTK library (supports Wi-Spy and Wi-Spy 2.4x).
• EaKiu: Open GL Based MacOS X tools providing interactive 3-D displays as well as the standard spectrum analyzer and spectrogram views.
• VisiWave: Advanced Site Survey tool running on Windows.
• iSite accelerates WLAN survey and design while simplifying network management. Requiring minimal knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) engineering, iSite implements an easy to use windows user interface and supports most WLAN adaptors.
